Throughout 2022, ARC talked to lots of different people to ask them what they thought about our draft strategy. We did this through events, meetings and 1:1 discussions. In total 208 people told us what they thought. 105 were people supported; 6 were family carers; 56 were providers; 4 were regulators; 9 were government staff; 5 were commissioners; and 23 were ARC staff.
We pulled together the information we were told in England, Scotland and of course, Northern Ireland. We accepted that we may not be able to change everything that was raised but that we would look at big issues. These were things that were raised more than once, by different people.
Our philosophy continues to be that everyone is unique and everyone has a valuable contributions to make. Our value base is centred around human rights and our belief that everyone should be treated with dignity in their daily lives. All services should promote this principle. As a member of ARC you sign to confirm your commitment to implementing this principle in practice.
