ARC talks to many different stakeholders who have different roles to play in achieving better outcomes for people with a learning disability.  This includes the people that make policy, the people who commission services, the people delivering services and most importantly the people who use services.

We do this through facilitating meetings and inviting people to it, and by attending meetings hosted by others, to make sure the voice of the learning disability sector is heard.

Examples of meetings hosted by others include:

  • All Party Group for Learning Disability, chaired by Chris Lyttle. This meeting at Stormont enables the lived experience of people with a learning disability being shared with our Politicians.
  • Leaders in Social Care Partnership is a meeting of senior leaders from the statutory, independent and 3rd sectors, chaired by the Northern Ireland Social Care Council.
  • Northern Ireland Adult Safeguarding Partnership, chaired by the Health & Social Care Board, which drives forward our regional approach in keeping people safe.
