As you may be aware the outworkings of the Regional Learning Disability Day Opportunities Review (2014) have begun with each of the five Health & Social Care Trusts (HSCTs) facilitating Implementation Groups. Over the next 3-5 years Northern Ireland will see a change in provision for people with learning disabilities which will promote their active involvement and participation in a range of diverse community based activities. Day centres will however remain for those with more complex needs. The Bamford Review placed this shared responsibility across all Departments in relation to the ‘Equal Lives’ Review Report.
To inform the direction of this work, we are conducting a short survey, developed through ARC’s Day Opportunities Workstream, to understand more about the scale of people supported and provision currently available. Whilst HSCTs have recently asked some scoping questions of their commissioned providers, ARC has assessed the additional information within this survey as invaluable. We also hope to reach as many providers, regardless of sector, as possible. Please note this can also be circulated to other/any relevant and interested parties that wish to complete the survey.
Please encourage and support the completion of this survey, on behalf of your organisation.
