ARC exists to improve the quality of life for people who have a learning disability and we achieve this by effectively involving people with a learning disability, as well as our members in the delivery of our work. We seek this support through various means of engagement from consulting on annual operational plans and ARC’s strategic direction, to partnering on project design and delivery, to joint decision making such as recruitment to vacant positions within the ARC team.
We proactively seek feedback on our work from stakeholders, more specifically the outcome of our work in delivering change for providers, practices & policies, and individuals within communities and use this to continually improve our internal ways of working alongside planning future ARC led activities.
ARC considers one of its strengths is the application of its UK Strategy across the four nations and the sharing of innovation from one jurisdiction to the next. The Board and Senior Leadership Team within ARC UK meets frequently to discuss the sector’s strategic issues of concern and explore opportunities to collaborate, broadening our networks or showcase new thinking to broker cross-jurisdiction learning.
