Following our call for nominations to join the ARC Board, two new Trustees were voted in at the AGM held on 3 October 2013 in Bristol and we are pleased to announce Neil Matthewman and Gary Thompson as the new board members who will take up their duties in January.
The new Trustees will be welcomed to the Board by our Acting Chair of ARC UK, Paul Ashton, who said: “I am pleased that ARC received several nominations from talented individuals for the Trustee positions this year, and following a close result I’m delighted to be welcoming both Neil and Gary to the Board. These appointments will strengthen ARC’s strategic leadership as we take the new three year strategy forward.”
Upon his appointment to the ARC Board Neil Matthewman, Chief Executive of Community Integrated Care, commented:
“Association for Real Change puts the rights of people with learning disabilities at the forefront of all that they do; this same aim is shared by the charity that I am proud to lead, Community Integrated Care. I am delighted to be able to support ARC to fulfil their ambitious aims by joining its Board of Trustees.”
Gary Thompson, Operations Director for Autism Care UK said of his appointment:
“I am delighted to be joining the ARC board, at this challenging time for support providers our collective voice has never been more important in upholding good practice and making people aware of the essential and often life changing services that members provide.”
We are also currently recruiting a new Chair for ARC UK following the retirement of Tina Fahm at the AGM on 3 October. For details about the role and how to apply see the ARC UK Chair Recruitment page.
