The Care Provider Alliance (CPA) brings together all the main representative bodies for voluntary and independent adult social care providers. Association for Real Change is an active member within the alliance.
The CPA has received funding from the Department of Health to undertake a programme of work to enhance engagement with and by the independent and voluntary adult social care sector in England. It will cover engagement in local commissioning, the NHS Five Year Forward View and contingency planning. It’s an important programme that we believe will demonstrate the benefit of care providers across the sector coming together for the benefit of the people who use social care services.
The first result is that the CPA is planning to publish guidance in September on the engagement of adult social care providers with Sustainability and Transformation Plans. It’s a tight timescale, driven by the strategic importance of STPs and the speed of their development. However, CPA is keen to engage as widely as possible as the guidance is drafted.
There will therefore be a short opportunity for comments to be made on some draft material. This will be in weeks beginning 10 and 17 July. We will send out a further note when the materials are available but, in the meantime, please make a note in your diary to check the CPA website as soon as possible after 10 July.
