This joint event will address the challenges facing providers working with people with a learning disability who are growing older.

Focus for the day will be the launch of ARC’s Real Change Challenge on Older People and the accompanying How Well Are We Doing? Evaluation Toolkit developed by the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities. The Challenge and Toolkit have been designed to help ensure the people you support lead happy, healthy and fulfilling lives as they grow older.

Chairing the event will be Dame Philippa Russell, Chair of the Standing Commission on Carers. There will be a presentation by the author of the Challenge, Cally Ward, feedback from providers who have piloted the Toolkit, workshops to discuss how well you are supporting people as the grow older and information and training advice on how you can improve on what you are already doing. All delegates will receive a copy of the Challenge and Toolkit.
