Emotional Resilience and Stress Management

This new one-day course will support staff in recognising potentially stressful situations.  It will give learners practical tools to prevent situations escalating, and support emotional wellbeing to increase emotional resilience and decreased stress and anxiety.

Should I Attend?

The session will benefit workers with a wide range of roles and responsibilities, regardless of whether they have face-to-face contact with service users.

What Will I Learn?

This training will support staff to recognise when stress may be occurring and how to act in a timely manner to ensure that it does not negatively affect them both personally and professionally.  The course will also focus on increasing emotional resilience.  At the end of the session, learners will be able to:

  • identify the importance of maintaining their own health and wellbeing
  • describe the terms emotional health and resilience
  • recognise stress, signs and symptoms and causes of stress
  • identify pressure from growth proficiency, working with case complexity, risk and manage workload
  • identify practical insights, tools and techniques to manage stress and recognise their own emotional state in the workplace
  • manage and promote their own wellbeing and emotional resilience
  • develop strategies to protect their own wellbeing

 What will it cover?

The focus of this training is to support learners to recognise stressful situations and utilise tools to manage these.  Learners will consider several concepts, including stress ‘curves’, why certain situations are stressful, coping under pressure and strengthening personal resilience.
