Care providers can showcase their facilities and any specialist services to millions of people via the NHS Choices website.
We reported in Insight 30th April about the NHS Choices comparison website for care services where we encouraged everyone to make sure their organisation’s online profile pages were updated.
According to the Department of Health, millions of visitors every month search for health, care and support services on the NHS Choices website, looking for information about facilities, specialist services, and quality and standards. Although nearly 9,000 provider locations have registered themselves as profile editors on NHS Choices, only around 3,800 provider locations have actually added any information to their online profiles.
The CQC has already provided the basic contact details for your organisation but we urge you to check your profile and ensure the information is accurate and up-to-date as your profiles “offer the opportunity to speak directly to the public, as well as commissioners and buyers of your services”.
