k-allen-small-shouldersAppointment of ARC England Chair

We are delighted to welcome Kate Allen, Chief Executive – The Kingwood Trust – as our new ARC England Chair.  Of her appointment, Kate says:

For 34 years the Association for Real Change has been a strong force focussed on improving the lives of people with learning disabilities. I have been an active ARC member for almost 15 years and an ARC Trustee for five years. Like a number of organisations over the years  ARC has experienced many transitions in order to respond to the priorities of the learning disability sector, and continues to be well known as an advocate for positive change.

“ARC’s success and strength comes from the unity of its members and I am delighted to take on the position of Chair of ARC England, to not only work alongside Lisa Lenton, the ARC England Director, and her dedicated team but also to work closer with, and for, ARC’s members.

“As the Chief Executive of a specialist autism charity, The Kingwood Trust, I am very much aware of the challenges providers are facing. However there is a great deal of passion, dedication and commitment in the learning disability sector and I am confident that this energy will see us through these difficult times; we will emerge having continued to help people with learning disabilities and autism lead happy lives.”
