Increased fulfillment, self esteem and confidence

Following the Active Support training by ARC the staff were very enthusiastic and wanting to try the ideas. The ideas and methods were really adopted positively and some have stayed in our work ethos.

I believe the staff did rethink how much time they gave to tasks and realised the importance of independence and adapting skills to meet needs.

The barriers to any training remain the same. We have staff changes and turnover and whilst the then Manager was the lead for the training she moved to a different area and the information was not properly passed on.

Behaviour prior to the training was minimal due to the nature of the service users but I think there has been more participation and therefore increased fulfillment, self esteem and confidence.

I’m hoping the staff will continue with what they gained in the training.
