It is a QCA (Qualifications and Curriculum Authority), Ofqual (Office of Qualifications Standards and Examinations Regulation), CCEA for Northern Ireland (Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment) and Awarding Body requirement that all assessors, internal verifiers and quality assurers attend annual standardisation events.

Each year ARC hold a series of standardisation events at venues across the UK facilitated by ARC Development Officers.

It is very important that staff who have roles as Assessors, Internal Verifiers and Quality Assurers attend Standardisation events annually as failure to do so will mean they should be classed as “inactive” within the scheme.

This year the event will include exercises in assessment and verification, looking at the new Qualifications and Credit Framework, suggested pathways towards achieving qualifications and an exercise incorporating the new assessor and verifier standards, updates on our paperwork and information on Unique Learner Numbers.

These sessions are also a great opportunity to work with Assessors and Verifiers from other Organisations and to share good practice and knowledge, and we always include time for questions

Internal verification/ Quality Assurers standardisation begins at 10am till 12 noon, assessor standardisation commences at 12.30pm till 3.15pm. Internal verifiers/Quality Assurers need to attend both sessions.

The cost for Assessors is £25.00, and Internal Verifiers is £30.00.

Please be advised that no refund is available for those who are unable to attend, although the Organisation may choose to send an alternative delegate.
