Office Based Team
Shirley Potter
I am currently working for ARC as the Learning and Development Manager; my main focus is to support ARC members and other providers to ensure they have a skilled and competent workforce.
This is achieved through: maintaining, developing and delivering qualifications, training products and services, publications and training funding across Health and Social Care.
This role includes keeping up to date with current and future changes in workforce development including; qualifications, best practice and legislation across the sector. Whilst also ensuring that we know what type of training and support our customers want and need.
Gill Shaw
Qualification and Quality Assurance Co-ordinator for the ARC Training Services Centre. My role is to ensure that we have robust systems, policies and procedures in place, to comply with regulatory and awarding body requirements to deliver accredited qualifications, and that these are monitored regularly, to ensure that our learners receive fairness and equality of access to assessment.
I try to give the best support I can to all the Development Officers, Internal Verifiers, Assessors and Candidates within our schemes.
I am a registered nurse for people with learning disabilities and a qualified teacher. I have cared for and supported both children and adults with learning disabilities before taking up a learning and development role, where my responsibilities broadened to include all health and social care professionals, both within and outside the Derbyshire County Primary Care Trust. I have worked at ARC for four years now and got to know many new and wonderful people.
I like music, family life, walking (when it’s warm) and holidays (where it’s warm).
Margaret Webster
Qualifications Registrar. I joined ARC in April 2008 as the Training Consortiums NVQ Registrar. Before I joined ARC I worked for several months with a training department at a local NHS community hospital where I gained my knowledge of NVQ administration.
My working background is primarily secretarial and personal assistant, followed by 3 years as a marketing assistant with a large ceramics company in Stoke-on-Trent before my move to Chesterfield.
