Rachel’s Fund

Rachel was a keen walker and photographer

In January 2008 we lost a colleague and a friend Rachel Sherratt in a tragic accident.

Rachel died doing the things she loved most:- walking somewhere beautiful, enjoying nature, taking photographs and breathing in fresh air.

Rachel had worked with ARC Scotland for a number of years. The focus of her work was primarily with people who use services. She led the “Banking Matters” Project in Scotland and helped train and prepare 20 people who use services to be researchers for the project.

In Memory of Rachel

ARC Scotland established RACHEL’S FUND in memory of Rachel. Friends and family started the fund with generous donations and work colleagues and people who use services from around Scotland have organised events in her memory.

Funds for trips and equipment

From time to time, we invite people who use services to apply for small amounts of money that will enable them to take up a hobby (such as photography for example), go on a special trip or outing or buy equipment that may help them improve their skills and abilities.
