Hear our Voice: Ten years of leading change in our services and communities

To mark learning disability week and the 10 anniversary of the National Involvement Network, we will be holding a major national conference:

The silence is disappearing. People are leaders now

Hear our Voice: Ten years of leading change in our services and communities

This unique event will be planned and led by members of people who receive support services who are members of the National Involvement Network.

It will celebrate their remarkable achievements in becoming leaders of change and highlight their groundbreaking publication the Charter for Involvement.

The Charter for Involvement sets out in their own words how supported people want to be included in their services and communities. It has helped to improve the lives of hundreds of supported people across Scotland.

The Charter can be downloaded here Charter for Involvement – full version (pdf)

A short animated film can be viewed here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atT0o4EoQYM

Delegates will learn what involvement means from the perspective of people who receive support. They will be inspired and motivated to find new ways to hear and include the voices of people who use support services.

Attendance is by invitation only. It is aimed at leaders who can contribute to improving the lives of people who receive support services in Scotland. This will include members of the National Involvement Network, senior officials in the statutory, voluntary and independent sectors, Scottish Government and Parliament, business and community leaders.

The event will be live streamed. More information will follow.
