Hear our Voice Film – 16th May 2017

At the NIN conference held on 16 May at Scottish Youth Theatre a new film was shown of NIN members saying why they think NIN is important, and what they would like to see happen in the future.

The film was part of a series of talks, presentations and workshops to celebrate NIN’s 10th anniversary and to talk about how involvement can improve in the future. It was held during Learning Disability Week with its theme of Looking Back, Thinking Forward. The conference looked back at a range of great achievements, and looked forward to ways people can be more involved in their organisations and the wider community.

Some members of the NIN (National Involvement Network) talk about what involvement means to them.

NIN members describe their experience of using a new Talking Mat to help more people use the Charter for Involvement. They explain how people were able to talk about how well they are getting on in their communities, and whether they are living as independently as they would like.
