New E-Portfolio Option for SVQ Candidates

ARC Scotland is pleased to announce a new option for SVQ candidates to complete their qualification using an e-portfolio* in place of the traditional paper based portfolio.

We have a limited number of licences so are keen to promote this opportunity to our members initially before we offer it on a wider scale.

All the Health & Social Care SVQ’s are available (levels 2, 3, 4, and Leadership & Management for Care Services)

Learning and Development level 3 and 4 awards are also available as are the assessor and verifier qualifications.

The benefits

10% cheaper than paper based portfolios
Greater variety of evidence possible (audio files, films, web-links etc)
Environmentally friendly – reduced need for assessor travel and paper free!
Quicker and easier tracking of evidence through the units

Eligibility

Any candidate eligible for the traditional paper based awards providing they are I.T. literate, and have access to a computer and the internet.

*What is it?

An e-portfolio is a portfolio of evidence created, compiled and stored entirely electronically. The candidate is given a protected confidential “log-in”, an assigned assessor and is subject to exactly the same evidence requirements for exactly the same qualification as the traditional paper based versions.

Members of ARC Scotland are eligible for a further 5% discount.

Candidates can also apply for the ILA which provides an individual grant of £200.

There are no set start dates – once application has been approved, candidates can start at a time agreed between them, their employer and the ARC Scotland assessor.

SVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care

Suitable for candidates who are involved in very practical hands-on care tasks in a support role to other workers (eg listening, organizing, leisure activities, entering notes in care plans, taking messages, help with feeding, toileting, dealing with minor medical needs etc).
