Dementia Awareness & Learning Disability (frontline staff)*

This course will cover a range of aspects of dementia and how it relates to adults with a learning disability.

By the end of the course the learner will:

  • understand what is dementia (concentrating specifically on how it affects everyday function for people diagnosed, using practical, experiential group activities)
  • explore communication
  • understand difficult behaviours
  • recognise meaningful activity
  • understand environmental modifications/adaptations/design.
