ARC Cymru would like to share with you the following Induction Programme for staff working with people with severe, profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). Dr Penny Lacy and Helen Bradley from Birmingham University wrote the Induction Programme and have given permission for us to use with our members in Wales.
Who the pack is for:
The pack is aimed at anyone who is new to working with adults and young people with severe and profound learning difficulties. You may be working in a day service, a college, a hospital, an enabling service, an advocacy service or for a service connected to supported employment. It is likely that you are one of the following:
- Tutor in a college
- Enabler
- Therapist
- Therapy assistant
- Psychologist
- Social worker
- Nurse
- Citizens advocate
- Day care officer
- Support worker
