Caring for You, Chichester, care provider ceases operations after inspectors identify concerns.
Following a recent inspection by the CQC inspectors found the care provided was falling short of the essential standards of quality and safety people should be able to expect.

The CQC has told the charity Making Space that it must take action to meet government standards of quality and safety at Riveracre House care home at Ellesmere Port.
Inspectors visited the home in July and found that it was not complying with seven of the essential standards.

Regional testing in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities green paper
On 21 September the government announced 20 pathfinders who will be testing out the SEN and disabilities green paper.
The pathfinders will cover 31 local authorities and their Primary Care Trust partners and will test some core elements of the reform.
The process will test elements including; a single education, health and care plan from birth to 25 years old, personal budgets and the role of the voluntary sector and parents in a new system.
The pathfinders will receive up to £150,000 per local authority per year.

Nottinghamshire County Council are selling six residential care homes to a private firm despite wide spread opposition.
More than 2,500 people signed a petition opposing the sale but the conservative run council are selling the homes for £1.9m to firm ‘Runwood.’
The sale is due to be completed in January 2012.
The homes being sold are Bramwell Care Home, Bramcote; Braywood Gardens Care Home, Carlton; Jubilee Court Care Home, Sutton-in-Ashfield; Leawood Manor Residential Home, West Bridgford; Maun View, Mansfield; and Westwood, Worksop.

Disability Essex, based in Rochford, is losing 15 jobs and ending several services due to funding cuts.
The charity provides retraining programmes, advice and a network of clubs to around 16,000 people in the county each year.
It will continue to run directly funded projects.

Southern Cross care home to close after two staff members were arrested for questioning by police about the mistreatment of residents.
The 54 year old woman and 48 year old man were arrested on suspicion of the ill-treatment and neglect of residents at Orchid View, in Copthorne, which specialises in dementia care.

Huddersfield
Six West Yorkshire actors with learning disabilities to star in hit TV comedy Shameless.
The actors were invited to take part by the series producer, Lawrence Till, after he saw their work for Huddersfield theatre company Full Body and the Voice.
