Active Support Project: Creating an Ordinary Life

In March 2012 ARC was awarded a 3 year grant from the Department of Health to carry out an exciting new project!

Over the next three years we will be supporting 30 service providers to embed an Active Support approach to working with those people they support.

Year one will be a pilot year, when we will work with 10 ARC member services in the East Midlands. We will be holding two free introduction days in the East Midlands to recruit interested service providers, who will receive five days of free training and consultancy. Alongside this, other support tools will be developed including a newsletter and an e-forum to network with other services engaged in the project, plus the opportunity to seek ideas and advice from the project team.

This is a great opportunity to be at the forefront of service development in the learning disability sector, and to be involved in developing best practice, so we look forward to talking with members about the possibilities in more detail at the forthcoming meetings.
