Stop Press: The ARC Training Consortium is moving during April 2008 - see information at the bottom of the page.

The ARC Training Consortium was set up in 1992 to support members who wanted to increase their own NVQ assessor/verifier capacity and to enable their staff to gain the appropriate NVQs. We are an approved NVQ Centre with City & Guilds. We are Learning Disability specific. Our emphasis has always deliberately been on helping to produce workbased assessors as our members believe that this represents best practice by ensuring confidentiality and privacy for service users. All of our assessors and verifiers have experience in working with people who have learning disabilities.

The Consortium has a Management Centre, which offers the Registered Managers Award, the Higher Professional Diploma in Managing Learning Disability Services and a Moving Into Management short programme.

The ARC Training Consortium works in partnership with an approved LDAF/LDQ Centre to offer learning disability specific awards.

ARC members are automatically members of the ARC Training Consortium, and they enjoy lower charges for consortium services. Non-ARC members are also welcome to use the consortium. For more information on how to do this, please contact the ARC Training Consortium by post at ARC House, Marsden Street, Chesterfield S40 1JY, or by email, or call 01246 564970.

In order to facilitate a quality customer service, The Training Consortium phone lines will be open Monday to Friday between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm. At any other time there will be a message service available.

April 2008

The ARC Training Consortium is moving!

For many years the ARC Training Consortium (ATC) has been based in Evesham, Worcestershire. It has grown there from small beginnings to become the hub of a major network of NVQ, RMA and HPD development work and assessment.

For the next phase of the ATC's life most of its work is moving to the other side of the Midlands, to join ARC's head office team in Chesterfield. This means a fresh chapter, with some colleagues leaving and other joining for the first time.

Our aim is to make the move with as little disruption as possible to those of you who use the ATC's services, and we will be sending you regular updates of information during the transition period. With this in mind, please note the following initial details:
