New Bursary Fund and ask the Minister a question!

Things are going very well for the conference this year. Tuesday 18, Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 November on the theme of Grand Designs. It is in Coventry - not Southport - and Ivan Lewis the
Social Care Minister has agreed to speak. As ever we want to get maximum value for members out of the conference.

There is a new Bursary Fund sponsored by Consensus Care which will fund a number of people with learning disabilities to attend the conference. An application form is available to download here.
We intend to allow it to cover residential and non residential delegates for all or part of the conference.

So if you are sending a staff member why not see if s/he could accompany one of the people you support using the Bursary scheme?

Assuming there are no Ministerial reshuffles which affect Ivan Lewis, we want to know what questions ARC members would like him to answer. We will be asking him questions on the day but it also makes sense to ask him questions now so that he has the opportunity to address some/all of these in
his speech. This also gives those (unlucky) members who are not attending conference (big mistake - book now!) to ask the question that they would have asked if they had been there.

ARC members are therefore invited to post in questions to the ARC members forum or direct to me (james.churchill@arcuk.org.uk) and we will collate these and forward them to Ivan Lewis.  This will improve the chances of him answering them in his speech.

Now is your chance to ask what you really really want... to know!

James
